The RO Group has once again held their annual charity quiz and raised £8,000 for an important local charity, RECOVER, a vibrant up-cycling charity that provides important opportunities for vulnerable adults to rebuild their lives through the medium of transforming furniture.
This year’s event, held as usual at the Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar, marked the return of the annual tradition celebrating its 20th year and saw enthusiastic participation from across the business and local community.
In addition to the quiz, which was organised and run by RO employees, the fundraising evening featured an auction, raffle and a prize draw for specially designed hampers, thoughtfully put together by the team with donations from local business, employees, friends and commercial partners to the Group.
RECOVER, led by Ian Block and Holly Brunsden, is driven by a shared passion for transforming furniture and changing lives. At the charity’s heart is a commitment to sustainability, achieved through up-cycling unwanted furniture and materials donated or reclaimed throughout Hertfordshire and beyond. Each piece of furniture created is one of a kind and represents the uniqueness and individuality of all the participants in the programme.
Each member of RECOVER is on a journey to rebuild their lives, making RO proud to be associated with such an important cause in the local community.
Edward Rowlandson, Group Managing Director, the RO commented:
“I am incredibly proud of all the hard work that our team puts in to organising this quiz now in its 20th year. The enthusiasm and hard work in raising funds for worthy local causes is truly commendable. It is always rewarding to witness such an inspiring evening, drawing participants from across our network to enjoy themselves and generously contribute to deserving local charities. I would like to say a huge thank you to everybody involved for helping us raise £8,000 this year. In total our team, friends and partners have altogether raised £95,000 for local causes since the inception of the annual quiz.
“We are delighted to stand behind Ian, Holly and their team, who offer vital support to many in our local community who are on the road of recovery. It is inspiring to witness how RECOVER’s programmes positively impact lives, offering hope and opportunities for those in need.”
Ian Block, Founder of RECOVER , added:
“Thank you to the RO, for all your hard work and enthusiasm, to ensure the quiz night was such a success. We are delighted with the amazing amount raised. Witnessing everyone’s support and generosity towards RECOVER’s cause is truly heartwarming. Your donations make a huge difference to people’s lives and enables us to continue empowering individuals to rebuild their future, one piece of furniture at a time.”
