Whether you are looking for full time or part time hours, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing land promoter as a Strategic Land Manager, with a broad role working on the acquisition, planning, promotion and disposal of strategic land sites.
RO Land is part of the RO Group, a long-standing, entrepreneurial property company with offices in Potters Bar and London. RO Land was founded in 2020 and is focused on finding, securing and promoting sites suitable for residential, commercial and energy uses in the northern home counties, Cambridge to Oxford arc and South Midlands. The business has expanded rapidly since it was founded and we are now looking for an ambitious, driven and commercially minded individual to help us take it to the next stage of growth.
You will be part of the strategic land team, who work on a hybrid basis from Potters Bar, reporting into the Strategic Land Director. You will be tasked with sourcing sites, ensuring their smooth acquisition into the business, and then working on their long-term promotion and disposal.
To be suitable for this role, you will have a background at a leading agency in a surveying / planning role or at a developer / strategic land promoter.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Site identification and deal execution (40% of time):

Identifying sites through agency contacts, software systems, local plans, land registry & agency contacts.

Evaluating the planning potential of strategic sites.

Writing offer letters to landowners.

Negotiating Heads of Terms for promotion agreements or options.

Preparing financial appraisals.

Preparing investment papers.
Project Management:

Driving the commercial elements of the promotion process and assisting with planning matters as needed. for the sites under control.

Attending meetings with landowners, agents, local authorities and external consultants and developing positive relationships with the key people.

Assisting with the preparation and management of planning applications, appeals and S106 negotiations.

Drafting of regular reports to the board and landowners.

Assisting with the asset level business plans.
